Set the loop up, hit record, play with your keyboard, the on-screen piano, or your MIDI controller, then stop. Changes save back into your document automatically.
The web edition is desktop-first: on a phone you can play and listen, but editing the roll needs a bigger screen.

MIDI: checking…
Idle
Edit the roll: click empty space to add a note · drag to move · drag the right edge to resize · right-click to delete. Shift-drag to select (Shift-click toggles one), then Delete to remove them; ⌘A selects all. ⌘Z undo · ⌘⇧Z redo. Everything snaps to the Quantize grid. Scroll vertically to reach any octave (labels on the left) — switch Instrument to Drums and the lanes are labeled by drum. Faint vertical lines are 16th subdivisions (finer if Quantize is smaller).
C4 – C6
Keyboard: AWSED… play notes (row of home keys = white, top row = black). Z/X shift octave down/up. A connected MIDI controller is auto-detected. Step input: each key press drops a note at the cursor and advances one grid step — play at any speed. ←/→ move the cursor, Space = rest, Backspace = undo. Turn on Chord insert too and each key stamps the chord set in the Chord builder (Key / Type / Inversion) — change the Key to change chords. In step mode the roll is an editor: click to move the cursor · drag empty space to lasso-select · drag notes to move them · ⌘A all · ⌘C/⌘V copy / paste at the cursor · ⌘X cut. Rec speed records at a slower tempo (stored at full speed) so fast passages are playable.
